WHAT IS COPD?

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is a slowly progressive lung disease that makes it hard to breathe.

The 3 forms are:

  • Emphysema (damage to lungs over time)

  • Chronic Bronchitis (inflamed bronchial tubes causing long-term cough with mucus)

  • Refractory Asthma (Asthma with persistent symptoms)

People with COPD often have 2 or 3 of these forms.
